Yesterday, went out with Ryl to buy christmas presents.
Christmas is getting less and less festive for me. I remember as a child, christmas was some really big festival that i always looked forward to in december. Christmas carols, the food, the hearty laughter, the people and cheery greetings.
i remember shopping at Tangs, Isetan and Toys R Us with my family. We'll usually be asking questions like "Do you think Daniel will fit this t-shirt" or "Ian likes beyblades...but how do we know which one he wants??"
Christmas shopping has got to be one of the best indulged shopping of the year, apart from CNY. Each present costs $30+, it was more than worth it, seeing the delighted faces when they open their presents. I'm glad I've got a big family. A nice big family.
I also remember eyeing the presents under our green christmas tree. Counting if I got more presents than my sister or not. Those big presents(shaked a zillion times), especially those wrapped in the ToysRus wrapper really tested my patience.
I remember the times we drove round orchard rd at night to see the christmas light up... of those gone and missed childhood days. yet that reminded me of that year where they went to watch Disney on Ice without me.
Oh I do so love ice skating. i've a good mind to set up a nice big rink in spore and promote the graceful sport to fellow sporeans. That time i went to Korea, the rink was crowded yet very spacious. (not like Jurong, can hardly glide a few steps) There were bout 5-6 instructors with 10-20 kids each. All of the students were wearing blue and red uniformed jackets. It's a pity many Sporeans are not exposed to iceskating when young. We don't need a frosty cold dry winter for that tho.
Today, went Snow City with tablemates. Thrilling as the "tyre slide" might be, There's still a lot to be developed. Skiing might be fun, but probably not in Singapore now.
Was freezing. Scared that my fingers or nose will fall off. Can't let that happen, I play the piano.
Why today so many malays?? On the mrt i mean. I counted. There as bout twice as many Malays than Chinese!! And more indians than chinese too! Malay kids are very cute, with their big eyes, bronze skins and all. I think one day Malays will out number Chinese. They give birth to more kids.
