Imagine if the whole nation's hopes are on you. Imagine if all eyes are now now on you. Everyone cheers for you. Compared to the stress i get from Os, this is definately much much more.
Before the table tennis bronze match yesterday, i was quite sure our only hope Li Jiawei will win. During the semifinals when Zhang Yining played with that South Korean, I noticed that Korean's balls are so slow. But then now i realised it's quite irritating when you have to receive such a light ball. and she's soooooo defensive!
When Jiawei won the first set, I was so happy! More happy for her than for the nation. Then I don't know what happened already. It was live. i was screaming like mad and thrusting my cushion in the air. Then during the bronze medal game point, i just covered my eyes. it was too painful to watch.
I feels sad of course, but most of the pain came from Jiawei. i know she's sad. She said she's "very sad". Seeing and feeling your hero in anguish pained me much more than the thought of losing a medal. After all, the medal meant nothing much to me, and besides, i'm not very patriotic anymore. but Li Jiawei is my idol!! I've never been so crazy over any atheletes.
Yes, she cried just after she left the hall. I cried too. So did many many other singaporeans especialy those fans at Toa Payoh sports hall.
oh but i was happy for Zhang Yining. But the intensity of her joy just mirrored the intensity of Jiawei's disappointment. i would love to see Jiawei as happy as this. So i couldn't really feel the joy. Go Zhang Yining!! Go Li Jiawei!!
