Having a fever now. Best if the enzymes catalysing reactions in the hypothalamus part of my brain are denatured. Then I won't experience something called "feelings".

Yeah, it's back to the srp database compiling season. For some strange reason, I have a feeling that my mentor knows that I see those inspecting, cutting and pasting of things like

"Query= gi|17327344|gb|BH381202.1|BH381202 AG-ND-176P16.TR ND-TAM
Anopheles gambiae genomic clone AG-ND-176P16, DNA sequence
(737 letters)
Score E
Sequences producing significant alignments: (bits) Value
pir||S68424 allergen Der f III precursor - house-dust mite (Der... 59 1e-07"

as a chore. He seems to be looking at me in strange way when he said it's "not so bad" afterall and the compilation is a "treasure" to him. Of course it is, to a person who can name a protein by just looking at the string of amino acids. But for a person doesn't even know what's anaphylaxis, (like me and probably you) the classification and modelling of proteins is much looked forward to. (By the way, it's a rapid and servere allergic reaction to an allergen.)

I really have no idea how it all started. In the past, hardworking seems to be seen as a virtue. But now, people want to hide this virtue of theirs. In fact, they are clamouring to be called "lazy" or maybe even "slack". Why neh? Is it because they want people to think that they don't study yet get high marks, then they can attribute it to "smartness" or "intelligence"?

Or do they just want to try and convince themselves they are not putting in enough effort? So that if they don't do as well as expected, they can blame "lack of preparation" instead of "i'm stupid", and thus have greater hopes for the next paper?

All this mainly because people seem to think intelligence is a gift and a higher IQ means superioty. Diligence is nothing to be proud of. Smart ppl work with their brains and hardworking people work with their hands. It's obvious which kind of jobs are higher paying. Also, it's obvious that it's those same people who call people "muggers" and tease anyone who reads "Scientific American"; and at the same time claim they have not touched their TYS throughout the June holidays, who are the true muggers. Covering up their insecurities maybe?

How nice! Spent the time I should have spent doing math TYS, on learning menelaus and ceva's theorem for SMO special round. And now, it's a pretty D on my report card and no entry to national team. dao4 tou2 lai2 yi4 chang3 kong1

Eh... kind of feel that someone in my class dosen't like me. Thinks I'm weird...to the point of being... should I say slightly scared of me? Errr, I know we don't talk at all to each other, but I'm really as normal as the rest. You just don't know me well enough.
